SHIP 20th anniversary report

Since SHIP was formed in December 1991, its members have provided almost 270,000 plans which have helped the UK’s over-50s release £12.12 billion pounds from their homes.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary party SHIP has produced a report highlighting some of the achievements and major events over the past two decades.

The report takes a look at how far the industry has come and offers a snapshot of the market along with a timeline of events and an example of future public policy and stories from actual customers.

It concludes with a look to the future and what changes are in store for the industry and SHIP.

Andrea Rozario, director general of SHIP, said: “ I hope you will agree the report makes for interesting reading and lays out much of the progress made by an industry that has worked hard to ensure that the customer can benefit from wealth they have tied up in their bricks and mortar without having to leave their beloved home coupled with the safeguards provided by SHIP and regulation.”
