Post Office introduces mortgage specialists
The Post Office is expanding the way it sells mortgages and has launched the first phase of its in-branch mortgage specialists.
Launched in 2007 Post Office Mortgages are sold online and by telephone but the face-to-face mortgage specialists are being rolled out in five of the largest branches – Birmingham, Solihull, Walsall, Luton and Norwich.
Customers can book a free, no-obligation appointment to see a specially trained advisor. The specialists will be able to discuss each individuals needs and answer questions to help customers make an informed decision about the suitability of Post Office products.
With ambition to become a top ten lender, this latest move will be rolled out across its other branches in the coming months.
The Post Office’s new mortgage software will enable customers to find out how much they could borrow and view product features and repayments on screen.
Mike Cook, head of Post Office Mortgages, said: “We understand that taking out a mortgage is one of the most important financial decisions you have to make. Finding the right one can be a complex process and this is one of the reasons why we have introduced our specially trained mortgage specialists to assist our customers through the process.
“We are one of the fastest growing financial services providers in the UK and we are constantly looking at ways to offer new services to our customers. By introducing mortgage specialists in our branches, we are taking the next step in fulfilling our ambition to become one of the best providers in the market place and to be a genuine alternative to the established high street providers.”
