Mortgage arrears and possessions conference – 9 February. This conference is for collections, credit risk and recoveries staff within lenders as well as solicitors and asset managers to stay abreast of industry challenges. Topics covered include the policy context for arrears and possessions, trends of arrears customers, lender forbearance, compliance, arrears from the court's perspective, mental health training for collections staff, arrears in the North / South divide, managing long term arrears, managing properties in possession, Scotland and Northern Ireland update, interest only term expiries, pre-arrears and supporting susceptible customers.
There will be two additional training and networking elements on 8 February. The afternoon before the conference, the CML will host a half-day training seminar to equip participants with an awareness of debt advice and how this can help customers who are struggling with their mortgage repayments. The seminar is led by Jeff Brown, Advice Works, who has over 20 years experience in money advice. The evening before the conference, the CML will host a networking dinner; an opportunity to meet some of the conference speakers and fellow delegates in a social environment (only open to conference attendees).
